Fred Bloch, the young hero of Kings in Disguise, returns
in a new graphic novel titled On the Ropes. Five years after
he stumbled into a life on the road, Fred faces new challenges and learns
some hard truths about keeping his dreams alive.
Set against the backdrop of a WPA traveling circus, this new chapter in Fred’s life sees him partnered with a man who has no dreams at all … and finds him the target of forces determined to end his journey forever. Written by James Vance
and drawn by Dan Burr, On the Ropes will be published by W.W.
Norton in 2008.
